INTERNATIONAL ENGAGEMENT PARTY TAKES CENTER STAGE Valentine’s Week in Annapolis: Annapolis Opera Invites Public to the Event
The Count and Countess Almaviva are graciously hosting an engagement party for their longtime servants Figaro and Susanna in Annapolis on Valentine’s Week. The couple is inviting all of Annapolis to join them on Friday, February 18 at The Wild Orchid from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Figaro and Susanna of Seville, Spain, met 11 years ago in Seville during the Count and Countess’ courtship. The Count and Countess Almaviva are currently in the Washington D.C. area on diplomatic business.
In support of the parentless bride, $15 per person shall be placed in her dowry for the upcoming nuptials. The happy couple will be feted with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. In honor of the couple, the establishment’s owner has developed a special drink, the Susann-gria. Susanna has chosen Annapolis’ own designer, Lorraine vom Saal, to make her bridal gown. The gown will be on display at the engagement party for all to admire.
The bride, a native of Seville and personal assistant to the Countess, and Figaro, also a Seville native and the personal valet to the Count, are planning a weekend long wedding March 11 – 13 at Maryland Hall in Annapolis. While personal family drama will keep Figaro’s mother and father, a wealthy Spanish attorney, from attending the engagement party, the two are, however, expected to be in attendance at the wedding ceremony. Wedding invitations will be mailed six weeks before the big weekend.
The bride and groom have chosen to honeymoon by setting sail from Annapolis Harbor on a luxury yacht provided by the Almaviva’s close friends at Serco, Inc. They are expected to arrive back at work with the Count and Countess Almaviva in Spain at the end of March when the Almaviva’s complete their diplomatic duties in the Washington area.
The happy couple has no plans for family at this time, though the bride’s employer is said to be with child. Congratulations to the Count and Countess Almaviva. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the Count and Countess’s generosity. Annapolis is the most romantic spot for us to begin our married lives together, and we are so excited to celebrate with all of Annapolis,” said Susanna and Figaro.
