22ndAnnual Vocal Competition
Hear the opera stars of tomorrow compete for cash prizes and scholarships. Help choose the winner of the “Audience Choice” award.

2008 season’s winners were:

  • Baritone Jay Jung: Grand Prize - The Grace Gelinas Clark Memorial Award ($2,000), Director/Conductor Award ($500)
  • Soprano Sungji Kim: Second Prize - The William Boldyga and Betty S. Myers Incentive Award ($1,800)
  • Soprano Claire Kuttler: Third Prize - The Lindley Incentive Award ($1,500)
  • Soprano Danielle Pastin: Fourth Prize - The Dr. Paul and Mrs. Herta Lagally Memorial Award & the Todd Duncan Award($1,300)
  • The Audience Choice Award;
  • The DiLeonardo-Musterman Award ($300)
  • Mezzo-Soprano Michelle Rice: Study Award - The Hughes Award ($500)
  • Soprano Jessica Lennick: Study Award - The Severn Town Club Award($500)
  • Soprano Martha Banks: Study Award - The Links of Annapolis Award ($500)
  • Baritone Ku Won Lee: Study Award - Col. Harry Lindauer Memorial Award ($500)

The finals competition at Maryland Hall is open to the public. Once again this year, admission to the competition is free due to a generous grant from Jim and Sylvia Earl and the Helena Foundation.
